A little Bossa Nova with Tova and Amy

A lovely way to spend a spring afternoon - with these two fine musicians and singers - Tova G. Kardonne and Amy Katherine Medvick.

The scene was a little cafe off Roncesvalles on Howard Park Avenue appropriately called "Coffee and all that Jazz" - serving fair trade products and delicious offerings from Dufflet.

Trading vocals and accompanying themselves on viola (Tova) and guitar (Amy) respectively they treated the patrons to a variety of Brazilian - Jobim of course and a few French chansons including the beautiful and beseeching Jacques Brel "Ne Me Quitte Pas".

This afternoon I am going to see the "Jazz Baroness" at the TJFF. Tonight is the Trombone Extravaganza and fundraiser in Jerry Johnson's name at the Rex - 9:30 show. The funds will go to a deserving trombonist in Humber's jazz studies program. And you can never have too many trombones - they sound glorious I can assure you.
